管理好草坪并不简单，从设计开始就需要组成一个由草坪专家、顾问、俱乐部老板以及相关人员组成专业团队。设计时需要考虑的包括当地气候、场地用途等诸多因素。设计完成后，首先要做的是铺设地下排水系统，只有排水良好的场地才能适应不同气候条件下的比赛要求。排水系统铺设完毕后，需要在场地表层覆上富含堆肥的沙层。将人工纤维植入20厘米深的土层，要求最高的纤维高度不能高于地面2厘米，这样人工纤维就不会对球的运行造成不利的影响。此后就可以据当地条件，选择合适的草种进行播种了--当然，如果需要加快进程的话也可以直接铺上合适的草皮。随着草的生长，自然草的根部便会与人工纤维相互交织，这些被人工纤维锚定的自然草最终会形成一个平坦、牢固而且稳定的运动场。
